Thunder In a Forgotten Town
We’ve received new copies of our first E.P. “Thunder In a Forgotten Town” released on Belgium’s Buzzville Records in 2007. We’ve been out of these for some time and have a limited amount for sale through our Bandcamp page. Get ’em while they last!
In other news, the new metal portal LouderThanHell.net released their top 20 most popular bands for the week of Feb 19 – Feb 25 and Cortez showed up at number 15 on the list.

Cortez self titled released on CD
Our self titled CD has finally received a release on CD via Bilocation Records. The CD is currently available on the Kozmik Artifactz/Bilocation Records website for 12 Euros plus shipping. We are currently waiting for our copies to arrive and will announce it here as soon as they do.

Cortez LP on Heavy Planet.net 20 Best of 2012
A little more year end love for Cortez. We scored the #16 slot on Nuclear Dog’s top 20 of 2012 at HeavPlanet.net.
#16 Cortez – “Cortez”
Full of weighty riffs and scorching solos, the vocals on “Cortez” are deft and deadly. The album is chock full of songs that range in sound from huge, heavy, and deliberate stoner/doom onslaughts to psychedelic odysseys of mind sharpening adventure with bits of punk, speed metal, eighties hair band epics, and much more thrown in for varietal effect and enjoyment. Cortez are especially adept at creating melodies that are impressive and memorable, displaying a strong ability to mold songs that pull you in quickly, deeply, leaving an indelible impression that won’t soon go away.

Cortez live in Western, MA on 12/7
We will be playing our last show of 2012 at Silk City Music in Florence, MA on Friday December 7th. We will be playing with The Uncomfortables, Ancient Power and The Damn Broads. 9PM 21+ $4.00.
